Short history of the American Bully
The American Bully breeds are an extension of the American Pit Bull Terrier breed. Bully Classic – This breed still has the usual Bully traits, but dogs of this breed have less body mass and possess a lighter body. Bully Pocket – This is a much shorter version of the American Bully Standard. Still shares the same characteristics, temperament, and appearance of the American Bully Standard breed. And no in spite of having a pocket in its name it does not fit in anyone’s pocket.
Bully Extreme – This is a breed similar to American Bully Standard. It seems that the only the name is different, but otherwise, they are the same in characteristics, temperament, and appearance.
Bully XL – This is the biggest type of Bully breed. Has the same characteristics, temperament, and appearance of other Bully breeds, but it is taller compared to them. Regardless of what breed you choose, every real American Bully’s are good, friendly, gentle and zesty dogs. This is what makes them such popular dogs to buy and adopt.
Things you need to know when caring for your American Bully
Now that you have decided which of the American Bully breeds you decide to adopt, you must know important things that will ensure your chosen Bully dogs health. A health American Bully is a reflection of how its owner care and love it.
Here are some reminders when looking out for your dog’s health:
Giving vaccinations – If you bought an American Bully as a puppy then giving it, some vaccinations should be the top priority. Find a good vet who knows how to do it. The most common type of vaccination that is given to your puppy is the one for rabies. Also, have your dog get a health check at least once a year.
De-worming – Worms can be insidious since they are not noticeable unless you are checking your Bully’s fecal matter. If you know or suspect that your Bully has worms, then a trip to the vet is in order. Have your Bully de-wormed after the initial de-worming, and your Bully should be checked every 3 months.
Nutritional care – The best kind of food that your Bully needs are quality meat containing high fat and high protein. The quantity of the food given to your Bully depends on your dog.
